SLEMA Members’ Evening 2017/2018 was successfully held at Renuka City Hotel on 7th June 2018.
SLEMA organizes this event annually to provide an opportunity for its members to interact with each other. Main attraction of the event is a talk by one of the SLEMA members on a topic of interest to the general membership.
This year, Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya, a past president of SLEMA and a member of the Project Steering Committee of Colombo Suburban Railway Project, spoke on the topic of “Electrification of Kelani Valley (KV) Railway Line”. After presenting the scope of Colombo Suburban Railway Project, Dr.Siyambalapitiya explained the current progress and findings of the feasibility study done onelectrification of KV railway line from Maradana to Padukka. The discussion session that followed thepresentation was moderated by SLEMA member: Prof. Janaka Ekanayake from University ofPeradeniya. The questions from the audience covered railway electrification as well as general policiesand studies in the Sri Lankan transport sector, demonstrating the knowledge and interest of SLEMAmembership on this important sector.
SLEMA Members’ Evening 2017/2018 Smart Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., one of the leading solar hot water and solar PV system vendors in Sri Lanka sponsored the event. Manager-Sales of Smart Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., in his short presentation to the audience, identified the customer-oriented service policy as the key strength of their company. Each participant was offered a gift by the sponsor and the event was followed by a cocktail.
