The 21st session of SLEMA Energy Management Forum was successfully held on 28th September 2017 at SLEMA office with the participation of SLEMA members. Mr. M.W Leelarathne, an expert in biomass industry, discussed the challenges in commercializing biomass energy.
Mr. Leelarathne explained the trends in demand for biomass, challenges faced by suppliers as well as users of biomass. Development of policies, regulations, standards and a certification process were proposed as the pathway to develop a commercially sustainable biomass industry.
