Annual meeting of the council of distinguished advisors of SLEMA for the 2018/2019 session was held on 6th December 2018 at Hotel Galadari, Colombo. Distinguished advisors, past presidents and board members of SLEMA attended the meeting. Mr. Ronald Comester, the president of SLEMA, welcomed the gathering, and presented the ongoing activities and focus areas of SLEMA. He invited for views and
opinion of the advisors and the past presidents to strengthen SLEMA role in the energy sector.
The need to take up a proactive role by SLEMA on matters with national importance was highlighted in the meeting. Capacity building of new members as well as members’ ability to convince decision makers were identified as essential requirements for successful implementation of energy management activities. It was suggested for SLEMA to engage in activities involving latest technologies (such as microgrids) to sustain as the leading energy management organisation in Sri Lanka.
SLEMA would like to extend its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the constructive suggestions made by the advisors and the past presidents.
